Yes Tim is still there, Lupo got a call and had to go sometime after Stacksram and I left. Slim Shady is arriving late morning tomorrow and hopefully will complete one truck and diagnose the other.
The head gaskets were definitely bad.
On edit: now I know how everybody else felt last night and today.

I am not going to lie - today was a rough day. As you saw it took me to almost 5AM to finish last nights write up and Tim kicked me out at little before 9AM again, so I am going to cut this write up a bit shorter but will still try to maintain the same eloquent articulation as always ;-)
First stop after we went to check out the free continental break fast at the hotel :
Yeah that's right - in less than 7 hours we ate at Waffle House twice and not just waffles either - Wrecker and Stacksram filled up on some more Chili to make sure we would be put in our place the entire day ....
quick pit stop at BP
and then back to the construction site where we had to inspect last nights (or better said this mornings) shenanigans....
and were greeted by the man with the dixie cup
First of all them heads had to be cleaned
but with them two around around there was always time for fooling around....
the glow plugs came out and the bad ones were weeded out via function testing
and we put a set together out of some spares while others were tending to the heads and getting some rays outside....
what a beautiful day to be inhaling lots of diesel fumes and clean some heads.

and some need to be ventilated pants seats
Deere is lucky, 560 block and diamond precups:

while TD is reading up in the manuals (Deeres new manuals donated by 625fireman)
and prepares the re installation of everything
but not before them heads looked as good as new ....

the rest is smooth sailing...

Just Another Diesel Guy
Well we are not quite there yet, discretion being better part of valor, and being sole survivor until reinforcements arrive I decided to make an early nite of it sort of, I just got out of the "rain locker" and figured I'd check in with you guys, 2 front cyls were leaking water front pass side was worst not major leakage but engough for it to have issues, maybe coolant tabs would have worked.
New gaskets on heads locked down & torqued, intake down & torquied, jig saw puzzel of brackets sorted and installed, the rip & tear crew was gone so Justin & I had to spend some time to study the partes pulled off the front of the engine.
Tomorrow before Slim arrives we'll install turbo, & exhaust crossover, change o'rings in 4x4 adapter that is leaking, forund 2 bad glows, replaced with 1 new and 1 "used but good glows," these are 11Gs not too quick to heat up but adequate.
Original plan was to drop front diff, just not enough hours in a day to do all we want to do in deal situations, Justin has been running like this for a while, consensus was if it anin't knockin by now it ain't been hurt, so tomorrow we'll do a sea foam flush, & drain, then in about a week another flush & fill, then take an oil sample set to see if she's healthy still.

Thanks to Stacksram for the tidbit about the scotchbrite discs. They work best on a 90 degree die grinder (I loaned his out so we didn't have it).
I guess he did learn something working on those EMDs.

Yep best suited for a 90 degree head, and also try the 3" ones. They last ALOT longer and clean better. Glad to see she is coming together.

***Update*** I just got off the phone from talking to Turbine Doc - the truck is all bolted back up, just finishing the Seafoam flush and drain, and the '94 will be good to go!
Slim Shady was there for a while (great to see you out and about, Slim!!) and things are pretty much all come together... TD is gonna attempt to render some diagnosis on the '97 before he leaves, so Justin knows what he's looking at next, and he'll be online later to post some pictures and tell us all about 'the REST of the story'...

Just had a minute to get here and get cought up. Sure wish I could have stayed but (blood) family becked. Again it was great to meet and work with diesel family. It is amazing how well guys that have the ability to wrench on these can meet and 5 min later be tearin down an engine without any misques. This is definatly something I will never forget being a part of. Thanks to all envolved even if you couldn't make it there in person you all were thought of and were there in spirit. Once doc gets done there we can all rest assured that this young man will be able to get to work and provide for his family with reliable transportation.
