I can tell you about my experience with the drives. I installed one on my mostly stock (3 inch downpipe) 94 6.5TD Blazer and set the timing to -1.94 IIRC. The engine became more responsive and the throttle response was a lot more crisp. The engine also liked the higher end of the RPM scale...
I originally bought it from Kennedy Diesel but they no longer list a price for the drive. So, unless it has value over the next best product in the market, which appears to be a drive offered by Leroy Diesel, the pricing would indicate something less than $360.00

I found one new in the box in my garage today. This one fits the 6.5L with electronic injection and therefore has the inductor wheel. What are these going for?
The free version should be sufficient. The site ids confusing - they're trying to sell the full version but the free version is still available.
The reg fix will create a backup of your registry for you.
The startup tool is also nice if you don't want to use msconfig.
Watch what you delete...
Take a look at CCleaner.
CCleaner provides an easy way for users to clean temp files and other things from their system.
It will allow you to configure what to remove, so you can keep cookies with logon info if you like.
Run CCleeaner and then run a defrag using JKDefrag and then evaluate...
Interesting video. He reinforced what I had always thought about dampers. However, I think his ideas about gear drives is intended for racing engines and not relatively slow turning diesels. I'm not sure how many vibrations at 3500rpm could be transmitted to the cam where we would start to...
I came across this when I was pricing airbags for my suburban: http://www.offroadadventures.com/articles/view/id/444
It's a Firestone system that adds a link. Looks like an interesting idea.
Hi Pepp,
I found this thread:
http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/577467-memory-upgrade-problems-gateway-mx3225.html
Looks like you already have the memory they said works (you've probably read everything I have on the subject).
Gateway's website does not show a BIOS or any worthwhile...
Rust Oleum has something called Rust Reformer that I'm going to try. I wouldn't mind using POR15 but the price is steep and there's a lot of prep work required to get good results. I'd use it if i happened to be doing a frame off restoration, but that's not in the cards for the sub.
I also...
The studs are already pressed in? Does that mean the rotors are now installed by sliding them on instead of pressing the studs on through the back to attach the rotor? If I didn't miss something, wouldn't you need different rotors/calipers/steering knuckle in order to make it all work?
My...
Finally got it done.
I'll bring it home tomorrow and mount it correctly.
I used a steel ruler of all things. I couldn't get anything else in there to snap the clip.
The double thermostats are kickin my arse. I can't see the cable or the connector on the PMD. I'll have to look again when it is sunny out - I may be missing it due to the lack of light.
I don't know a good independent mechanic in the area. That being said, Tim Lally is a pretty good GM dealership located on Rockside. You may want to get a quote from them - maybe they'll negotiate the rates or point you in the right direction.
I ordered a kit from Heath. It's a DTech model DT19209057 mounted to two aluminum plates and includes a wiring harness extension.
The problem is going to be installing it without removing the intake manifold or anything else. Heath insists it can be done without removing anything. I'm...
That's what I was originally thinking as I was planning the installation of the new one. To be fair, you could just have 2 drivers mounted next to each other and when one fails, unplug the remote harness and plug it into the other.
Load balanced drivers with failover was the other direction...
I didn't realize aftermarket product development had stopped for the 6.5TD. /sarc
Sure, carrying a spare is just as easy. However, setting up a simple switch (it doesn't even have to be mounted in the cab) that will keep both drivers on line instead of in the glovebox doesn't seem all that...
I got 6+ years out of mine before it failed. The first one was covered under warranty. I don't remember the symptoms - they just swaped it out for me at the dealership.
My idea, and you heard it here first, would be a switch that would toggle between a primary and secondary driver, failover...
Mine just started doing the same thing today. 11 years and 105,000 miles without issue then bam. I filled up today before I headed to work, which is about 30 miles. Truck ran fine. went to lunch and the truck shuts off - dead. No studder or gradual loss of power just off. Wait a couple minutes...
